  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Or were you just terrible at it?

Have you ever had a job that you were ill suited for, or just despised?

So my job is helping people, to put it simply. Especially the vulnerable. And what I do actually improves their lives in a meaningful way. So it should totally be “my thing.” Taking care of people and knowing I’m making a difference.

Except….it is sucking my soul dry honestly. So much misery all day long is hard to process. My colleagues seem to be able to just ignore it and do their jobs. But I end up in the bathroom at work once a day crying over some sad situation that I can’t fix. Sure I help, but what I do puts such a small dent in such an overwhelming large problem. It feels futile.

So I’d say this job is not for me lol. Unless I start developing thicker skin and dial my sensitivity way down, I’m not sure how long I’ll last. Which is too bad because I do good work.

I fell at work, and during the treatment process, I became permanently disabled due to medical fraud. It took me 18 years to discover what they did to me. Since then I have been researching in order to end human suffering.

Until my current job there really hasn’t been a job I hated.

First ever job was sacking groceries at store. Afterwards I spent 4 years in US Air Force out of high school. Later on spent 23 years between two companies. Got let go 2 years ago due to company move then found current employer.

Past two decades had its hard times but my current company at times has me wanting to find somewhere else to work. It’s mostly due to long hours and loyalty to brand.

Right now I stick to it because it’s the job that pays the most.

Despite being continuously employed since my early teens, I've only had four jobs and I've loved all of them, including the dairy farm and the military. I've been at my current job for almost 26 years. When it comes to employment, you have to think long term. Shortly after I started this job I knew I was going to be here for the long haul. I have a few complaints but they really are pretty minor. If you find that your work is stressing you out or giving you problems, my advice would be to find a different job. It can still be in the same field if you enjoy that. To be effective, you have to be happy.

I like that I’m helping people. Sometimes I’m the only one at work willing to help. And I get so much appreciation from those people. That should be enough for me.

But anxiety is kicking my ass and I’m down a lot. It’s hard to have a nice dinner without thinking of the people who are suffering and not eating. It’s hard to watch a movie at home, curled up on the couch, remembering how the person I talked to that day had no electricity with 4 kids and no food. I’m just having trouble leaving work at work.

And the thing that sucks is I know this about myself!! I’m an emotional sponge. That’s why I turned down the 911 operator job lol. So why did I do this to myself?

Bad bosses make it unbearable. Same with bosses who act superior, who treat you like children, and micromanage everything.

I never had a job that I truly hated really, though some have sucked more than others!
I would say if I had to pick my worst one that I liked the least it would be working at Burger King while I was in high school. The job paid crappy, and took up valuable time during my day...but it's about all you can get at that age :D

I truly believe everyone has been into a situation where they don't like the carrer or job they have placed themselves into. Perhaps the benefits over the actual job is what they saw.

I had a job where I felt like I wanted to do more. I wanted to move up into a more interesting position, but the boss was horrible. He wouldn't let me take on anything new, and he was always knocking me back down, telling me "No way am I going to let you do that unless you're a salaried employee, and you can't be salaried without an MBA". Every single day he kept reminding me of my "place" by making comments of some kind. I was miserable working for that guy. The turning point for me came one night after crying in the car on the way home. I walked in the house, and my 5 year old daughter came running to greet me. She was so happy I was home, and I remember looking at her face, and suddenly I realized that is what my life is about, It's not about work.

I got stubborn and decided I was going to do what I needed to do to move on at work. I enrolled in school to work on getting that degree, and at work, I kept reminding myself to cut myself off emotionally from the job. I also got lucky and that boss got transferred to another department, and his second in command moved into his old position and became my boss. She immediately promoted me even though I was just starting on that degree, and even worked with me when I had an occasionally early class I needed to attend.

I love my job now, but I couldn't have done it without having a great boss and mentor behind me.

I've never really hated a job itself. Just certain pigheaded managers and annoying co-workers. I'll honestly probably find any job "boring", because in my mind, I can think of a billion things I'd rather be doing or even a billion other things to occupy my mind, so despite popular opinion, "boring" is not the worst thing a job can be to me. I'm just there to earn money. Not friends, networking or anything else. Once I clock out, you can, as this generation says "Miss me with that shit" and you'll see more actual personality and talking from me.

Never hated any job; hated management at some. If the manager is good, the job is worth waking up for. If the manager is a total shite, you tend to get disenfranchised quickly.

At one of my jobs, when I was requested to join the support center (basically a group of engineers helping the field engineers), my manager was the absolute best I’ve ever had. He gave us our jobs/tasks and allowed us to do them. If we needed direction, he was there to either point out where/what we needed to do or he got us the help/support we needed.

He moved on to a new position and his replacement was not quite as good, but wasn’t a micro-manager. He also allowed us freedom to do our jobs. His only issue was he wasn’t part of the Corporate establishment and didn’t know all the tricks to getting us what we needed.

My last manager before I retired from them in ‘17 was the worst I’ve ever had. Micro-managed a group but didn’t know the job. Never went to bat for us, much less ever listened to our side of the issue. Morale dropped like a rock, causing the best of us to step away from the job and retire.

One of my previous employers (from the 80s) convinced me to come out of retirement and I caused my last employer and that manager some real headaches.

Yeah I had a job before I didn't hate it not at all. Busted my ass for 23 years. I was constructively forced to retire could have given the system another 10 years. They wanted to play games, well I played the game. Now I can't work at all. Yes I've worked, earned every penny of it too. LMAO

Yes. Worked for the same company for 25 years, as craft worker, shop steward and Local President for the Union that covered Montana and part of Wyoming. Finished college and got promoted worked my way up in management from the floor. Supervisor. public affairs officer, accounting to operations manager... hated the job every minute of every day, mandatory overtime, f**k Thanksgiving and Christmas every year, but what do you do when you wake up and find you put half your life into a company? The door didn't hit me in the ass on the way out, I left five years before I was eligible to retire and never saw a single person in that business again. I went to work managing a pawn shop, and later became an office manager for a plumbing and mechanical business... I was good at both of those jobs too. The only thing I think about with that old employer is the years I wasted there. Why was I there? That's another long story that involves a woman.

Not for long. I'm trying to think, but I can't come up with anything that lasted longer than 1 day - maybe up to 3.

I guess the worst was waaay back, maybe as far as the late 70s - selling tools and auto accessories to automotive shops all over the country by phone. The floor manager would put you on speaker and feed you shit to say to the 'customer.' That was enough for me. Done and gone.
