Olympian Nick Goepper's quest for a Valentine is going really well
SOCHI, Russia – American Nick Goepper already has a bronze medal. Now he needs a Valentine.
The slopestyle skier was part of a U.S. sweep in the event on Thursday with gold medalist Joss Christensen and silver medalist Gus Kenworthy.
When the trio headed to TODAY on Valentine’s Day, the 19-year-old let it be known that he was single. He – and the TODAY show’s Twitter account -- asked ladies to respond using the hashtag #iwanttodatenick.
It turns out, Goepper wasn’t kidding.
He will pick one lucky lady who uses the hashtag on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to go on a dream date with him.
According to US Weekly, that includes being flown out to wherever Goepper is training at the time.
Even before offering himself up as a prize, Goepper got plenty of responses to #iwanttodatenick.
It went like you would have expected.
There was the, ‘You’re so cute!’ approach.
The pick-up line approach.

Or, a tried and true tool of romance – poetry.
Some went right past dating and dropped the M-word.
And finally, Goepper made his own Valentine's Day plea.
UPDATE: Gold medalist Sage Kotsenburg has made his own competition.
