It's another slide show video. Did you know that the average American attention span is something like 25 seconds? I learned that it a video editing class. The whole video just seemed like what happened if you clicked the tag #monsanto on Tumblr. It's nothing special. If there are any truth screens they are soon discredited by the poorly photoshopped memes.

 

The video might be trash but the lyrics are real deal.

 

Frankly I should be upset with Monsanto more than anyone else because I've been obese most of my life.

Really, you can't be mad at MonSatano. You should be mad at the FDA. You just know that the FDA has been dropping the ball when every snake oil remedy released in the past 30 years comes with a list of 50 side effects, the majority of which are fatal or lead to fatal circumstances.

 

Monsanto is probably the most evil corporation on the face of the earth.

 

Which is why I coined it MonSatano... But they would not be a problem in America without the blunders of the FDA.

I could also refer to the editing tactics of two of those documentaries that change the single outcome of the one same GMO rat food experiment. It seems they have something hidden to gain.

 

So I guess being that I was part of the counter-protest: March Against Myths, wouldn't make me very popular around here. While Monsanto is no different than any other Fortune 200 company in that they're out for a profit, I find it amusing how many people attribute things to them that no $18B company could possibly do.

Nobody is feeding you poison. If you actually knew farmers, you'd know exactly how little glyphosate is sprayed on crops (equivalent to one 12oz can per acre) and how often (before seeding and if necessary after sprouting, never after flowering). But people and their cognitive dissonance...

None of this is even remotely close to true. You do know that see contracts have been a thing since the 1920s right? And most seed contracts are year to year.

As far as saving seeds, no large scale farming entity actually do that. Why? Genetic drift and seed quality. Farmers want yield and predictability. Saving seeds means you may get drifted traits and/or dead seeds. Buying seeds yearly saves on reclamation costs and gives you a predictable product year in and year out.

Also, Monsanto sells heirloom / non-GE seeds. So do about 200 seed vendors.

Corn from 1000 years ago looks absolutely NOTHING like the corn of today. It was much closer to rye / wheat than the corn we eat today.

Finally, patents expire. 20 years to be exact. Considering only 11 GE crops are approved in the US for sale, that's hardly a monopoly on the food supply (and there's 20+ companies selling GE seeds including Sygenta, Bayer, Dow, DuPont, etc).
